.Beergaritas.

Last week, Husband found a new favorite cocktail for my Birthday BBQ bash.
The BEERGARITA!
So we whipped up a batch.....and then had to whip up 3 more because it went so fast!
And because it was so tasty {and a new friend asked me for the recipe} I've decided that you should all have the opportunity to make it for your next BBQ bash too!
And please don't be afraid of the beer + tequila. I was a little hesitant at first too, but after trying it, you will most definitely be changing your tune! It's sooooo good!
Beergarita
Ingredients:
1 can Limeade Frozen Concentrate Mix
4 Beers {choose something lighter like a lager, not dark. Lime flavored beer would be good too!}
6 shots Tequila
Lemons + Limes {for garnish}
Ice
Preparation:
1. In a normal sized juice pitcher, mix all the ingredients together. Stir to dissolve and mix in the limeade.
2. Add this mixture to a pretty jug {like above} that is filled with ice. Cut up some limes and lemons and add to the jug. Serve!

.Balloons & A Birthday Week.

As most of you know, last thursday was my Birthday. And in these parts you don't get to celebrate just one day, you get yourself a certified Birthday Week. Yes, people. A Week.
And I Haven't even told you all about it!!!
It was such a lovely week. Filled with all my favorite people
And boy-oh-boy, I got soooo spoiled this year. Like I must have saved some drowning children kind of spoiled.
It started out with a lovely shopping & dinner date with one of my friends, Miss Fiona, the day before my actual birthday. We sipped wine and munched on some grub, and had just a lovely night filled with great conversation. We also checked off a couple things on her wedding To-Do list, which probably pleases me as much as it pleases her {I have a thing about weddings and a checklist}.
Then my actual day of birth rolled around, and it started off a little troublesome. And when I say troublesome, I actually mean it was outright awful. My poor Bella, was sick as can be. And It was pretty bad people {I'll save you the descriptive words}. So I took her to the vet thinking the most terrible things {because I am a worry-wort, and because she means the world to me}.
Can you imagine how awful it was to think that something terrible was going to happen to your sweet innocent baby? Especially on your birthday? After this, I can't imagine motherhood is going too be easy!
-BUT-
The old girl just got herself a case of Beaver Fever! She was going to LIVE! The happiness I felt I cannot describe.
So we got her cleaned up, filled her med's, and it was an instant relief. To her + myself.
How could you NOT fall madly in love with this face? How?
Then we headed out to dinner to a new restaurant we'd been killing to try. Niche. It only has 36 seats in it {yes, it's teeny tiny} and it was perfect. The right balance of coziness, hipster, and warm.
Niche, Via Vue Weekly.
Myself, Husband, Poppa, Sister, Poppa's Girlfriend, and Sister's Boyfriend {Joyce & Mikael, respectively} all plopped our tushes down at a table and had one of the funnest nights out. Good wine {actually great wine!}, delicious food, and laughter all night. In my books, that's a Perfect Evening.
My 2 Favorite Men! My Father and Husband!
My Sister, her boyfriend Mikael, and Joyce.
And because I'm a huge food addict, I have to share what we had.
To start, we had the Tomato & Bocconcini Salad, The Goat Cheese Spread, and the Prawn Special {x2}.
OMG.
Delicious! Delicious! Delicious!
Then Peter had the Smoked Tuna Salad. And he Highly recommends it.
And I devoured the weekly special, Snapper in a wine sauce.

Getting spoiled rotten!!

Thanks for a Wonderful Night!

.Marnie's Meatloaf.

Last night was one of those nights that had me wanting too do absolutely nothing. It was drab out. Kinda chilly. And my bones felt the first signs of fall coming on. I  really just felt like crawling under a big, cozy blanket, sip on some tea, watch a movie, and eat some comfort food. So that's exactly what I did. I grabbed an old duvet, made some black currant tea {my fav}, put in the movie Something Borrowed, and made homemade Meatloaf.
And I don't even like meatloaf, but when I came across this recipe from one of my favorite 'youtube' gals Marnie's Musings, it just seemed to call out to me. It turned out too be the BEST. MEATLOAF. EVER. New staple in the Treb household!
Messy, Flavorful, Ooey-gooey Goodness. And don't let it's ugly appearance fool you, it was Amazing!!
Marnie's Meatloaf
Ingredients:
2 eggs
2/3 cup milk
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 slices bread, crumbled
Half an onion, chopped
1/4 cup shredded raw carrot
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef (can also use ground turkey, or mix different kinds of ground meat like I did with ground Pork + Turkey!)
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tbsp yellow mustard
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Beat eggs with milk; add salt, pepper and bread and mix until the bread absorbs the milk.
3. Add onion, carrots, cheese and meat; mix until combined. Place in a loaf pan.
4. In a small bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar and mustard and spread over the top of loaf.
5. Bake at 350 degrees for an hour.
**Can be frozen or prepared in advance.***
