.Camping: Fifteen Things.

Fifteen things I learned while camping with Husband a few weeks back.
1:: One case of Beer a day is not enough for Husband.
2:: Our dog will forever be a scaredy-cat, and will forever love the water.
3::Husband is quite the fire wood collector {And if you keep encouraging him aloud, he gets even more of it}.
4:: You can't make smores without graham crackers. So don't forget them next time.
5:: I can pop up a tent like no-one's business.
6:: You know your content and in love when you can just sit together in silence and be absolutely happy. A complete sense of comfort. {ps. can you spot the P + E}
7:: Feeding husband jalapeno + cheddar smokies or hamburgers will give him far more superior gas than usual.
8:: Husband has more romance in him than I thought; he bought me a tri-pod and a new camera lens so that we can take 'nice family pictures' together.
9:: Oasis {the band} sounds just as good in the forest as it does in our house. Husband made sure of it.
10:: Eggs taste better on an open flame campfire {but only with husband behind the pan}
11:: I am married to a Real-Life Hero. Husband saved Bella's ball from the wild, freezing rapids.
12:: Sperry's really are an amazing water shoe. So are fuzzy socks by a roasting camp fire.
13: Wilderness mosquito's are more stupid than city mosquito's, but there's so many more of them. And they do not stop. Deet-laced bug spray or not. And when they bite you in some unmentionable parts, husband will still laugh at you when you scratch them.
14:: Husband can do an amazing Sagittarius impression {fyi: we found this bow at our camp}
15:: I love this man more than anything. I also love his little buddy here.

.Libraries are Hip.

As most of you know, I absolutely love to read.
But, I have a bit of a confession to make. And it embarrasses me a little.
I have not had an active library card for about 5 years.
Weird, right? There's just something I adore about browsing my local bookstore for hours {ok, not usually hours, but I can definately sink a solid hour into this}. It's like therapy. And you would think this would be cheap therapy, but {and here's the issue}, it's NOT! I end up spending hundreds of buckeroos on books. Every. Time. I. Go. There.
Sometimes this would work out for me because I would read them and fall madly in love. I would place them lovingly on my bookshelf and re-read them at my pleasure. And sometimes it wouldn't go so smoothly. I would read them, hate them and wonder why I just spent $40 bucks on each one.
Then I ventured into this beautiful world called a "Library".
For $12 a year {oh, you heard right. 12 Bucks!} you can rent books, audio tapes, movies, music and even  electronic versions for my i-pad any time I want!
Crazy Beans! {sorry, that was pretty lame}
I still got the hour long browse with my beloved books, but this time I only had to spend 12 Bucks {or actually $1 per month if we get technical} to do so. Which means that I am saving about a zillion bucks. Wickedly cool if you ask me.
Oh, and look how hip and cool the Edmonton Public library has become. They let you pick out your very own library card with sayings like the following:
I choose this one. It's hot pink.
"Chick's Dig Big Brains", "This Card Makes you Smart",  "Use at the First Sign of Boredom"
And these are my book selections this time around. Library Haul - Part 1.

.Yee Haw.

This may be a little late to post this.....but......
2011 marked my first Calgary Stampede experience.
And boy oh boy, it was a good one.
I wore a cowboy hat, walked on straw, chowed down on beef sandwich's with beans, and ate peanuts from a sack.
We met up with some wonderful friends {Mik & Jason} and shared many {intoxicated} laughs.
I didn't bring home a cowboy, but I did get to bring home this sexy man. And I ain't too disappointed about that.
See you in 2012 C.S.

.Summer of Festivals.

Holy Schmoly. Husband and I have been hitting up the Festivals this summer.
More than Usual, and I am not complaining. Not one bit.
Looks like this gal is checking off her Summer To-Do List.
On Friday we did the Taste of Edmonton, and then on Saturday we joined some friends at Heritage Days {which was a first, and definitely NOT a last for me. Might be my new fav.}
