Okay, I do admit it wasn't the toughest of reads, and I do admit that it may be a little 'young' for some of my 'most educated' friends, but I also admit that I was thoroughly entertained for the entire book.
At one point, I couldn't put it down for an entire day.
It was pretty meaty in size {it's 594 pages}, and just when you think you know what's going to happen. Wham!
Unexpected Twist & Turn.
So essentially it's about a witch, who does not want to acknowledge that she's a witch, and just wants to live like a human. However, her magic will not allow her to do so. She stumbles upon a manuscript which opens a door to all sorts of trouble. Daemons, vampires and more witches start pouring into Oxford (where she is currently teaching) and start to cause a mess.......and from here you'll have to read the book to find out the rest.
I really got into the characters, and found myself actually sad that I'm finished reading it. Sort of like I miss them. Isn't that so silly? It's very reminiscent to the Twilight book series, but I found this to be a little more for the adult age and a little more unpredictable, like I mentioned above.
Also, I was totally involved in the love story that is a major part of this book. Lets say it's a Supernatural Love story. And it was fabulous.
It's also so fabulous that it's the first book in a series to come. But we'll have to wait {while biting back what I have left of my fingernails} till the second book is completed and out for our reading pleasure. And I will be the first in line to pick up a copy.
Rated 5 out of 5. A MUST read!
