.Three Sisters Salad.

Remember when I mentioned my love for the Enjoy Centre's Prairie Bistro's Salad bar??
Well if you don't, it's right here
Anyways, I usually go every Saturday. It's becoming a sort of ritual with Husband and I. We head over to the Enjoy Centre, grab lunch, and do a little shopping {but more to come on that shortly. In fact an entire blog post on the lovely place}. It's the perfect way to spend the morning. I look forward to it every weekend, and if I was perfectly honest, it's the food that keeps me going. And the coffee, but that's a different story.....
I really start to crave this one particular salad on Thursday, leaving two whole days of torture.
The Three Sisters Salad.
It's this beautiful combo of Kale, Red Cabbage, and Carrots tossed in a salty + lemony dressing.
Absolutely Delicious.
So I hunted down the chef {my aunt! haha} and asked for the recipe, which she happily obliged!
Problem solved!!! I can now have my salad on Thursday and Saturday {because who am I kidding, they serve Macaroons on Saturday......I will ALWAYS go back for those!}
Three Sisters Kale Salad
{adapted by me, original recipe by Jadzia / Zofia}
Ingredients:
Preparation:
one] Chop up all your veggies {kale, carrots, red cabbage}, as directed above and combine in a large bowl.
two] In a small bowl, mix the Lemon juice and the Bragg's Liquid Soy sauce together.
three] Pour over the salad and mix all together. Let sit for at least 4 hours.....Tip: the longer you let the Kale salad sit in the dressing, the more "cooked" it'll be....and tastier in my opinion! See kale can be a little bitter and tough, so the lemon/soy dressings softens, or "cooks", the leaves.
NOTE: You can also toss in a handful of sunflower seeds....I didn't have any on hand, but usually I throw them in too! So yummy with that added crunch!
This Salad is simply delicious and one of the simplest salads out there! It's also packed with some major healthy things [hello! Kale!] so you can't go wrong.
Let me know what you think.
Also, check out the Grasshopper Spit Salad that I made with the bragg's soy liquid seasoning if you're stuck for ways to use it! This stuff has replaced soy sauce for me! So good.
